03.31.09the black jacketThe Black Jacket are the latest band to perform on TheTrainTracks.org. The idea of the website is to take a band/solo musician and have them perform on the light rail while it rides around the city of Phoenix. I've loved the project since I first heard about it and The Black Jacket turn in another stellar performance for the site in the latest video. You can view it here.

03.31.09the golden filterThe Golden Filter were one of the most hyped bands at this year's SXSW Festival. The NYC based disco-house band played some of the best parties throughout the week, including the V Magazine party. Their stock seems to be quickly rising as they're about to go on a tour opening for the Presets. They're being talked about both for their original tracks and the remixes they've been pumping out for artists such as Peter Bjorn and John, Cut Copy, Little Boots, and Empire of The Sun. 03.31.09Gargamel x Mishka Hedoran MagentaThe guys over at Mishka teamed up with Japanese artist Gargamel to produce this limited edition run of 50 vinyl toys. The toy is a take off on the Kaju style of monsters. Some of the more famous Kaju characters throughout history are Godzilla, Mothra, King Kong, etc. You can get the toy directly from MishkaNYC.com. Being that there's only 50 of these and Mishka is wildly popular nowadays, these are going to be gone fast. $45.

03.31.09diplo in tucsonDiplo will be rockin' the decks at a special April Fool's Party at Club Congress in Tucson. He'll be joined by local Tucson DJ Matt Mccoy. I've seen Diplo destroy a few parties before and this is sure to be worth the drive down.

03.31.09tee of the dayToday's "Tee of the Day" is from Ludwig. These guys are based out of sunny LA and pay tribute to Beethoven with their designs. This particular tee is called the "R and R Tee" and combines that love for Ludwig Van with a tribute to an iconic Byrds graphic from the 70's. You can get this tee from 80sPurple.com for $32.

03.31.09coachella preview: glass candyWe're going to be previewing Coachella from now until the festival starts by introducing you to one band a day that will be playing this year. Let's start off with Glass Candy. Glass Candy has been releasing music on Italians Do It Better Records for the past couple of years now. 03.31.09new black lips videoThe boys in Black Lips have put together this new video. It's very nicely done and reminds me a little of an old, twisted home movie. They'll be coming to town on April 17th at the Clubhouse.

03.30.09all points west 2009This will be the second year that the All Points West festival has taken place at at Liberty State Park in Jersey City, New Jersey. The lineup this year doesn't have Radiohead headlining two of the three nights like last year, but the lineup is much better overall. It looks like if you're looking to have a similar experience to Coachella on the East Coast, this will be the festival to head to in the future. This year's event takes place July 31st-August 2nd.
