03.30.09isisIt's Monday and that means it's time to start the dull routine of the work week again. Nothing keeps my energy going better than a can of Red Bull and some metal on Mondays. So, here's a new show announcement for you. Isis is coming to town on May 16th to support their new album Wavering Radiant which is being released on May 5th via Ipecac Recordings . The band will be playing the Clubhouse in Tempe this time around. No word on opening acts yet. Here's a video of the band recording the album in the studio.

03.30.09the love me nots videoFresh off being a showcasing artist at SXSW 2009, the Love Me Nots are busier than ever. They're preparing to tour Europe in April and the West Coast of the US in May. Here's the music video for the their track "You're Really Something" off their latest album Detroit.

03.30.09new passion pitPassion Pit's debut album is set to be released May 12th on Frenchkiss Records. The album is called Manners and was produced by Chris Zane who has worked with Les Savy Fav, The Walkmen, etc in the past. Here's the first single off the album. It's called "The Reeling". 03.30.09tee of the dayToday's "Tee of the Day" comes from a collaboration between Altamont apparel and photographer Boogie. Boogie is well known for his hyper realistic take on street photography. Boogie frequently exposes the under belly of life in America that few of us experience in day to day life. Altamont decided to release a line of tees that have some of Boogie's most iconic and well known images on them. Here's one of my favorites. 03.30.09movie mondayToday's "Movie Monday" is all about one of American cinema's original bad asses, Charles Bronson. Death Wish is the story of the Vigilante. Bronson's wife gets killed and his daughter gets raped during a home invasion, prompting him to turn aside from peaceful views and begin to practice his own breed of street justice. This movie is totally awesome and the soundtrack was done by Herbie Hancock. I just picked this up for $5.99 at Best Buy. Worth every penny.

03.30.09pony spring 2009 part 2Last week I gave you a preview of the Pony Spring 2009 line of footwear. The line is very vintage inspired, while offering some modern twists on that classic Pony style. Now, here's some more sneakers they're releasing for Spring. These are looking just as sharp as the last batch. Hopefully there's even more to come.

03.30.09white denim at modifiedWhite Denim hail from Austin, Texas and play a style of indie rock that's heavily influenced by blues, soul, and a little bit of garage rock. They're bringing the show to Phoenix tonight and have local boys What Laura Says opening this one up. Here's a video for you to get a feel of what White Denim is all about.

03.29.09pigeon religionPigeon Religion is a pretty new band based out of Tempe. I've been digging on the songs I saw posted on their Myspace page and the band was kind enough to hook me up with a few of the tracks to share with my readers. Pigeon Religion plays punk in my favorite fashion, noisy and abrasive. The band says the first track "Shootist" is going to come out on a 7" single before summer, while "Scorpion Milk" will be on a 7" single released in the fall. 03.27.09propaghandi tourPropaghandi recently released a killer album on Smallman Records called Supporting Caste and scheduled a mini-tour for early Summer to support it. Luckily, Arizona is one of the states they're coming to on this trek. The band will be here on May 24th at the Marquee Theatre with Bridge and Tunnel as the supporting act.
