Blissful is about the best description I can come up with for the music from this Swedish electronic genius. Here's a track from the album that samples a Cocteau Twins classic along with a remix from the UK's Foals, who amp up the track's dancefloor appeal. 05.18.09radiohead recording new albumDuring an interview with BBC, that was released yesterday, Radiohead bassist Colin Greenwood dished out some great news for fans of the band. The band is currently in the studio with longtime producer Nigel Godrich recording the followup to In Rainbows. There's no word yet on a release date for the forthcoming album, nor news on the band's plan for distribution of the record this time around. Hopefully more information will trickle out soon. Like plans for a summer US tour, maybe?

05.18.09mp3: summertime clothes dâm-funk mixI've been eagerly awaiting this track since I heard word about it. While this is a radio rip from the BBC, it still gives you the opportunity to hear what just became my summer anthem. DâM-FunK has been putting out some of my favorite music as of late. The Stones Throw artist is on some serious modern funk shit, and was a perfect choice to remix the latest Animal Collective single. 05.17.09the dead weather to play street sceneStreet Scene is a music festival that takes place in the heart of Downtown San Diego at the end of August each year. The festival will be celebrating it's 25th anniversary this year and is happening on August 28th and 29th. This is my personal favorite festival. You get to see great bands in the middle of one of the nicest cities on the West Coast, and it's far less crowded than most of the large festivals out there are. The lineup for this year's festival will be announced in June, but I just got word that Jack White's new project ...

05.16.09san carlos party on sundayIf you end up staying out just a little too late at one of the large number of events going on around town tonight, and sleep until 4 in the afternoon tomorrow, you'll be happy to know you won't have missed all the fun. The rooftop pool at the historic Hotel San Carlos will be abuzz tomorrow as local dj's such as DJentrification and Meaty Ogre mix up records while Lalo will provide some art. The party will get going at 6 and will last until 11. It sounds like the perfect way to spend a sunny Sunday to me.

Where too many producers take a track and pull out all the original quirks that make the song what it is in favor of their own style, SMD always make sure their remix is a good mix of the two group's styles.
