A friend invited me to a BBQ tonight, which led me on a quest to find the perfect song for grilling meat and drinking beer on a porch. Luckily Lee Fields just released a whole album of them, called My World, on Truth & Soul Records.
“Ladies” is slow-burning summertime soul at it’s finest. Lee has the right idea on this one. Summer really is all about girls in their finest dresses and funky music turned up to 11.
