MUNK is the music project of Gomma Records owner Mathias Modica. Gomma is among the best labels out there in the suddenly crowded field of disco-house, and Mathias carries the spirit of the label convincingly with his own work. This mix is the best summer inspired mix I’ve gotten a chance to hear so far this year and I recommend ignoring the rest of what I have to say and downloading it immediately. But, if you’re still reading, I think his description of the mix says it best. “Lots of unreleased Balearic Disco, 70ies Hippy Rock and Esotheric Motor Soul… mixed by MUNKyBoy Mathias Modica…Incl. new stuff by Moulinex, WhoMadeWho, House of House a.o. Get lazy!” Get lazy indeed.
