Vivian Girls is one of those bands that receives an incredible amount of hype, and actually deserves all of it. Yes, their music is incredibly simple, but it’s also incredibly infectious. I also love that they decided to take their second album in a more rugged and punk route than the first, bucking the trends of bands trying to go more “pop” once they get a taste of success. “When I’m Gone” is one of my favorite tracks off the album and the video is brilliant.
