10.29.09fuse brings bevy of guests for novemberNovember is such a huge month for live music in Phoenix, so it's only proper that the club scene follows suit. Fuse is no stranger to bringing big guests to the rooftop, and the lineup is only getting better now that the weather is kinder to the outside crowd. Here's a whole month featuring some of the best known names in the electro/house/techno scene right now. I'm especially excited to see L-VIS 1990 come from London to play his very first show in the States.

10.27.09mp3: surfer blood- “floating vibes”Surfer Blood just may have been the busiest band at CMJ 2009. The band crammed twelve sets into the week and had very positive receptions throughout. That's great for New York, but luckily the band will be coming through Phoenix and playing The Trunk Space on December 7th. The band is about to release one of the catchiest indie albums this year with their debut LP Astro Coast. "Floating Vibes" reminds me of everything I loved about the older Weezer albums, and power pop in general. Download

10.27.09video: land of talk- “it’s okay”Here's the third video from Land of Talk's recent album Some Are Lakes. The Montreal-based band enlisted WeWereMonkeys to direct the video for "It's Okay" and they delivered a beautiful clip. This was one of the tracks that immediately lodged itself in my brain after the first listen of the album, and remains a favorite after many future listens. The week's just started and they couldn't care less. If you want to ignore the fact that the week isn't even half over yet, you should head down to this party. This time they're doing an even bigger event by bringing in psych-punk band Crystal Antlers to play a free show at Yucca Tap Room. The free-with-RSVP show will be a bit of a warm up for the band's set at Fun Fun Fun Fest three days later. 10.27.09mp3: dirty projectors- stillness is the move (missions rework)I've been greatly anticipating the Dirty Projectors stop in Phoenix for months on end. I'm happy to write that the big day will finally be here tomorrow when the band visits The Rhythm Room. I know I'm not the only one that can't wait to see the monster that was Bitte Orca performed live. Luckily it's going down at one of the best sounding venues in town.
