I have been awaiting the return of the metal/hardcore supergroup Doomriders for what feels like ages. I’ve been listening to their debut album frequently since it was released in 2005 and hoping that we could get another full length from the band before they inevitably break up. Luckily my prayers have been answered, albeit four years later, with the release of their new album on September 29th. Darkness Comes Alive manages to be even more crushing than it’s predecessor while injecting a new found dose of melody into a lot of the tracks. “Come Alive” is the lead single and one of the most muscular statements the band has ever made.
