The Xx is one of the most hyped groups I can think of right now. A band full of boys and girls that all just recently turned twenty created out one of the freshest and original debut albums in years. They take great influence from American r’n'b from the 90′s as well as taking influences from electronic music and indie rock. Their music is sparse and has lots of open space, allowing the beautiful vocals to carry the album. I’d recommend getting their self-titled album right away if you don’t have it yet. I’m really appreciative when I hear a remix where the spirit of the original song is kept intact while something completely new is added. In this case, The Xx recorded their own vocal track and provided new instrumentation for their remix of this Florence track.
