Fool’s Gold is an LA ten-piece that released their debut album early this year to critical acclaim. The band features a rotating cast of musicians that create music taking influence from African and Islamic traditional music and mixing it with the more traditional sounds of indie rock. This kind of pan-globalism is certainly in style these days, but these guys aren’t just taking advantage of a trend. The album says a lot for a debut and I’m looking forward to watching them mature and grow into the band it seems they’re capable of becoming. This Memory Tapes remix of “Nadine” is pretty wonderful. I hope you enjoy it.
