Being the kings of viral media that they are, Vampire Weekend has released a track off their forthcoming album for free download. “Horchata” is a track built primarily upon the steady stomp of the drums and the intricate backing vocals. There’s actually no guitar to be found in this song, and it leads me to believe the band might be going in a new direction with this album. Contra will be released on January 10th. Until the leak inevitably comes, enjoy this freebie from the band. The band has set up some tour dates in preparation for the release, including a whole two week stand in California.
