The Coathangers are from Atlanta and definitely prove that garage rock is not just a boys game. In fact, this all-female band has turned the genre on it’s side a little with their album Scramble. Jordan introduced me to this band after stumbling along them when researching the multitude of shows to attend this weekend in Austin, and they caught my ears quickly. This band is all energy, wit, and bite. Atlanta is proving to continue to be a hotbed for bands that enjoy life’s simple pleasures of distortion pedals and sexy bass lines. You can pick up the album from Suicide Squeeze and enjoy the music video for this track below as well. I also hear the band recently appeared on LA Ink.
