Vampire Weekend has released the second single for their forthcoming album Contra. I’d say “Cousins” is more immediate than the first single “Horchata.” This one really jumps out at me immediately and makes me want to jump around a bit. I first heard it while sitting in my cubicle at work and was tapping my foot so violently I had to make a conscience effort to stop myself so that I didn’t draw too much attention to my lack of working. I am hoping for a little more advancement with the rest of the album though, as it seems like they’re following very closely in the footsteps of their debut album. Not that this would be a horrible thing, as I do still listen to that album regularly.
