11.19.09mp3: real estate- “black lake”I haven't heard much talk about the Real Estate show that's coming up on the 25th at Modified, and that's a damn shame! I'm completely swooning over the band's self titled album that came out officially yesterday. It's one of the most refreshing and best executed psychedelic pop albums I've ever had the opportunity of laying my ears on. "This Year" feels like it has all the stress, depression, disappointments, and fears of a country (and world) facing economic collapse and rapid social change. 11.19.09video: atlas sound- “quick canal”Atlas Sound's latest release Logos is an album in the truest sense of the word. It's perfectly paced and each track feels like it couldn't exist without the one prior and after. The centerpiece of this album happens to be one of the most beautiful songs I've heard this year. "Quick Canal" is over eight minutes of hazy and atmospheric pop with lead vocal duty handled by Laetitia Sadier from Stereolab. I became an even larger fan when I got to see them perform at Modified last year. Well apparently Dam-Funk is also a huge fan and snatched up a bunch of copies of their out-of-print LP, Good Evening. 11.18.09show announcement: rogue wave at club congressHuge show announcement here! Rogue Wave is going to be playing at Club Congress in Tucson on April 24th. The band will be touring in support of their follow-up to 2007's stellar album, "Asleep At Heaven's Gate." Their new album "Permalight" is set to be released on March 2nd and was recorded with producer extraordinaire Dennis Herring . There's not a peer about openers or any details beyond the date of the show, but needless to say I'm excited. I'll keep you updated on any more information I can get my hands on.

I'm sure there have been countless fans on their knees each night praying for another round of IDM magic and their effort has finally paid off.
