12.15.09< Midlake is coming to Tucson (+ Two new MP3's!) >I was already terribly excited for the release of Midlake's new album The Courage of Others, but recent events have elevated that excitement to new heights. The first of which is the 12" release "Acts of Man"/"Rulers, Ruling All Things," which contains two tracks from the forthcoming album. I've included these below for your enjoyment. 12.15.09< Muse and Silversun Pickups are coming in April >Muse will make their way through Phoenix just a week before their headlining set at Coachella. The band was the first confirmed headliner for this year's festival, and the only one as of yet. They'll be playing at US Airways Center on April 9th with opening support from Silversun Pickups. The band is going on the massive tour in support of their album The Resistance, which was released early this year. Tickets go on presale Thursday at 10AM over at evil bastard Ticketmaster. Their website says tickets will go for $45-55 each.

12.15.09< Yeasayer is returning to Phoenix and Tucson in April >I know 2009 isn't over yet, but since we're on the way out I've been salivating over the plethora of shows that are already confirmed to hit Phoenix early next year. However, today's announcement has me more excited than any other confirmed show for 2010 so far. Yeasayer confirmed earlier today that they will be stopping by by Phoenix and Tucson on a tour in April, which I can only assume is taking the band to play at this year's edition of Coachella. 12.10.09< Video: Women Of Uganda Gulu Widows sing "Home" >This great news came to me today: "At the album release party for their debut Up From Below at LA's Roosevelt Hotel in July, Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros raised money for the Gulu Widows Group of Uganda. The women used the band's donation to start a farm to sustain their community. They recently had their first harvest; to celebrate and show the band their appreciation they made this video in which they sing the band's song "Home." 12.10.09< RJD2 is coming to The Rhythm Room with a full band (+ a new MP3!) >RJD2 has accomplished a lot in his 10+ years as a musician. He's released records that changed the game completely and are still talked about as being huge inspirations to this day. The latest accomplishment he can claim is launching his own label and releasing his upcoming album completely independently. He even recorded it in a studio he owns.
