“Swim” has the biggest guitar sound you’re likely to hear in the early part of 2010 and is also the most infectious single you’re likely to find. What’s even better is Surfer Blood’s entire debut album seems to have been created specifically for those that worship the electric guitar. These guys are geniuses with the axe, and write a hell of a chorus as well. Beyond that, they’re also very nice and gracious individuals, as I learned when the band kicked around at the Bikini Lounge for a couple of hours after their show at The Trunk Space a few months back. Unfortunately Phoenix was hit with a hell of a storm that night and the show was sparsely attended. Luckily you’ll get a chance to see what you missed when the boys return to The Trunk Space on March 24th.
