King Tuff’s album “Was Dead” was one of my favorites from last year, and one that not enough people were talking about. Luckily it seems like a lot of people that missed out on his music will get exposed to it via his new band Happy Birthday. “Girls FM” is the first song that they’ve released, but it’s set to come out on their debut LP which will be released via Sub Pop on March 16th. The interplay of the male and female vocals adds a lot to the stoned 70′s vibe his music has always produced. I have a feeling this band is a hit in the making, and like any buzz band worth their weight they’ll be making an appearance at this year’s SXSW. Don’t miss them if you attend!
