Our friends and fellow local bloggers over at Electric Mustache recently delivered the news that the Arctic Monkeys would be coming to the Marquee on April 15th. However, they failed to mention what I believe to be the most exciting news about that show. Sleepy Sun is opening! The psych-rock band from San Francisco released their debut album “Embrace” on ATP Records last year and their hazey sounds have been lodging themselves permanently in my brain ever since. They feel strangely more authentic and heavy than 99% of the bands out there trying to resurrect a time period they never got a chance to see. If you told me the record was an original recording from the 60′s, I just might believe you if I didn’t already know better. These guys are going to give your tax day a much needed kick in the ass.
