|Future Watch: Blondes|

Zach Steinman and Sam Haasound met while attending college at Oberlin. They were joined by their love for electronic music and upon graduating took a trip to Berlin to soak in all the amazing scene that city has to offer. They were so inspired by this trip that they decided to form their own musical project named Blondes. The two are now living in Brooklyn and have immersed themselves in the new capital of disco in the States, alongside countless acts that call the borough their home. While you may not have heard of them yet, I think this will be the year that their name is on a lot of tastemakers lips.

The duo delves into all different genres and disco and house. Some of their tracks ride by on a wave of balearic keys and whispered vocals. A few are more hard hitting and remind me of early acid house songs. They also delve into more straightforward pop and electronica sounds. Regardless of what template they begin a track with, it often ends up in a very different place and you’ll always be taken on a journey along the way. This is the sound of the past and the future intersecting and it’s the sound of joy and pain combined. It would be perfect for the club or for the afterparty at your house. Regardless of where and how you listen to Blondes, you owe it to yourself to give them a chance. Oh yeah, “Moondance” is just about the most epic space disco track ever.
