I want to start off this post by apologizing to my loyal readers for my absence. It has been over a week since I last updated this site and you’ve probably been thinking it was dead for good at this point. Unfortunately for the haters, this blog isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. In fact, my personal and professional life took over to the extreme this past week. I vow to everyone that has stuck around that updates will continue daily from this point forward. One of the things that has kept me from posting here is my growing rage over the recent passage of SB 1070. One particular musician has been very outgoing about his support for the struggle for freedom that all people of Arizona deserve.

That musician is Pink Eyes from the band Fucked Up. While everyone is talking about boycotting Arizona, and rightfully so I might add, he made a statement saying now is the time for musicians to come here and make a positive difference in the atmosphere of our city. The band is doing just that with their show on Thursday night at Chasers. I can’t think of a better band to help us get the collective anger we’ve been feeling out and on the table. There’s also one hell of a lineup of local openers; including Landmine Marathon, Elders, Cagematch, and Chandails. Show of the month, right?

To try to make up for being so lame lately, I’ve got a new Fucked Up song and two tickets to give away for the show. The song is taken from an upcoming split 12″ with the Norwegian noise-pop band Serena-Maneesh. As for the tickets; email contests@factorymadefuture.com by Thursday morning and I will announce the winner then. Come out and show this band that we are thankful for their support in these fucked up times. I can think of no better way to show this than coming out and thrashing around with one of the world’s best bands.
