Fans of funk, soul, and jazz are in for a treat when The Budos Band comes to The Sail Inn on August 17th. The thirteen-piece band from Staten Island calls modern soul powerhouse Daptone Records home. They play a dizzying mix of songs they refer to as being “Afro-Soul”, most instrumental in nature. The band will bring their undeniable stage presence that you would expect from a band with an entire horn section and bongos to spare. With that many musicians on stage, and the dancing they will no doubt inspire, this may be the hottest and sweatiest show of the summer. But you certainly don’t want to miss this.
