Phoenix winning a Grammy this year and selling out multiple nights at Madison Square Garden clearly show that the Franco-pop takeover of America is complete. While they have long been one of my favorite bands and deserve everything that has come their way, I hope their success leads to a few other bands in their scene getting more recognition. Tahiti 80 has actually been at it for even longer, releasing their first EP in 1996, and it looks like 2011 might be the year their profile rises worldwide. The band just released a new EP called “Solitary Bizness” on Tuesday and will be following up with a new full length named “The Past, The Present & The Possible” on February 22nd, 2011. Here’s a single from the EP, along with a music video featuring the title track.
