|Matthew Dear Live Tomorrow Night With Small Black & Class Actress!|

This week is shaping up to be a crazy one for me, as two of my most anticipated shows of the year fall on back-to-back nights before I leave for Austin to catch Fun Fun Fun Fest. You would think that I’d do the smart thing and sit at least one of these shows out, but I simply can’t bring myself to do it. The first show features the absolutely amazing Matthew Dear, along with his live band. While he has been known in the past by as many as four different aliases, and considered one of the best techno producers in the world, as of lately he has focused on releasing music that lends itself to a full-band experience. His new album “Black City” is one of the most funky and infectious pieces of wax that has been released all year and I can’t wait to see how this translates to the stage. The word on the street says his performance features live drums, bass, trumpet, keyboards, guitar and a guaranteed party.

Seeing that set would be more than enough for me, but the promoters behind this tour really wanted to make sure you enjoyed your night. So, we’ll also see Small Black return to Phoenix after a fantastic set at Black Forest Mill earlier this year. The band has a new album out that has been taking up a lot of headphone time for me and I’m anxious to see the new cuts played live. And in order to really set this night over the top, Class Actress will be opening things up with their beautiful brand of electro-pop that is sure to make you melt just a little inside. Have a listen to the tracks below if you’ve managed to miss out on any of these bands and make sure you get your ass to Club Red tomorrow!
