Happy New Year to all! I know it’s very belated and the blog sort of disappeared for the past month. This isn’t the first time that has happened and it might not be in the last, being that I’m going to Thailand for a month in mid-March. I’ll be honest and say the chances of this blog having daily updates from this point on are sort of slim. Let’s just say that more pressing tasks in my life have been demanding a lot more of my time recently. Ultimately, I’ve gotta pay the bills and keep focusing on my education above all else. However, I love writing this blog and contributing to the discussion and scene in Phoenix. So, I am going to strive to update this blog daily from now on, and will promise to update at least a couple of times a week if I can’t. You’ll most likely just see the number of posts per day come down from the level of five to ten posts per day of old.
Anyways, now that we got that out of the way, let’s talk about something awesome that is on the horizon for 2011. It looks like we might have another new venue downtown! If you haven’t been to The Duce on Central and Lincoln, it would be hard for a description to do it justice. The space combines a restaurant and lounge, a coffee shop, a vintage store, an old school gym, and lots more, all crammed inside a revitalized warehouse that was built in 1928. And now, they will apparently have a venue space as well. I’m not sure on the details of whether they’re building a stage, or if this is a one-off performance. I’m hoping that it’s not, as we could really use some new and creative venue spaces in the downtown core. Regardless, make sure you come see The Dodos and The Mumlers play at The Duce on March 13th.
