It’s that time of the year again. You know, the time where you try to buy everyone’s presents and make arrangements for how to spend the holidays a few days before they actually happen? Way to go, Derrick! Anyways, that’s the situation I find myself in this year, so hopefully you’ll be forgiving if this blog isn’t updated as frequently as normal during this week. I do have a gift for all my readers to enjoy while sipping your egg nog and trying to avoid family contact as much as possible. It’s the third edition of the FMF Mixcast, and it’s my favorite yet. I mercifully didn’t include any Christmas music. You can thank me later.

My idea was to get one of these mixcasts posted up every Sunday. Well, as you can tell I’m a little late with the second edition. I was having a lot of issues with the server the site is hosted on over the past week, so my apologies for the delay. Hopefully I haven’t lost many readers forever! For those of you that did tough it out and stick around, thank you! Here’s the second edition of the FMF Mixcast in appreciation for reading this blog on the regular. It’s been almost a year since I started it and I continue to be humbled by all the positive response I’ve gotten from it. I promise you many more years of bringing the best in independent music and arts coverage to Phoenix. Thanks again to my good friend Kristina Marie Dove for allowing me to post her photography with these mixes. Check out more of her work here. Look out for another mix on Sunday!

Alright everyone, I know it’s been a little quiet around these parts for the last couple of days. In order to make it up to you, I figured I’d give you a sneak preview at the weekly FMF mixcast. This week’s episode is 56 minutes of music for you to check out. It doesn’t have cover artwork this time around, though I did want to post it with this awesome photo from my girl KMD. Next week there will actually be discussion and show updates throughout the show. Download it and give it to your friends if you like. Your feedback would be appreciated!
If there’s one thing I love about the internet and the blog culture that has sprung up, it’s the ability to find new music from producers across the world and to collaborate regardless of the distance between each other.

I recently discovered a producer and dj by the name of Werewolf By Night who is making the kind of music I’m feeling more than anything right now. He makes a seductive mix of italo/house/early electro/classic disco with a signature spin on it that made me fall in love the first time I heard one of his tracks.

Upon discovering the artist, I realized he resides in Tel Aviv, Israel. Holy shit! I had no idea the disco revival was taking root in Israel as well. Long story short, here’s the second entry in the Factory Made Future mix series, straight from Israel to you. Tracklist below:

1. Micropacer – Kris Menace
2. Somebody, Somewhere [Lifelike Dub] – Cazals
3. Starmaker [Miami Horror "Relight My Fire" Remix] – Dan Hartman
4. You Shake Me Up – The S.O.S. Band
5. On the Air – Space
6. Never Give You Up – Sharon Redd
7. Fantasy Park [Moulinex Remix] – College
8. An English ’93 – International Music System
9. Invisible Beach [Werewolf by Night Remix] – Palm Highway Chase
10. Toshi’s Battle – Tensnake
11. It’s Been Too Long [Lifelike "Top Gun" Remix] – Alyoa
12. So Much in Love – datA
13. Nightvision [The Twelves Remix] – Daft Punk

And as an added bonus, here’s my all time favorite Daft Punk remix.
