Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros stopped by the Letterman Show last Friday and performed one of my favorite tracks of the year, “Home”. I got word that the response to the performance was incredible even though it aired the Friday before Labor Day weekend. The performance is a little more subdued than some of the performances I’ve seen of this band on various videos, though it was pretty cramped for them up on that studio stage. Once again guys, please please please come to Phoenix, we’re waiting!

If you’re like me and just can’t wait for Dirty Projectors to come play at Rhythm Room, you’re probably sucking up every opportunity to catch a glimpse of what the band does on stage. So, here’s the band playing Bitte Orca number “Cannibal Resource” on Late Show With David Letterman. Pick up your ticket for the show fast. I’d be shocked if these last much longer.

I was pretty bummed that I had to miss Matt and Kim’s show at The Clubhouse on Wednesday night, but I absolutely had to see Davila 666 play at The Trunkspace. Those guys put on one of the best shows I’ve ever seen in that venue, and now we get this video of Matt and Kim live on Jimmy Kimmel’s show. So, I think the pain has been erased. By the way, a big fuck you to whoever broke into six cars at the Bikini Lounge, including Davila 666’s van, on Wednesday night. Karma will get you.

dinosaur jr. on late night

As we posted on Tuesday, Dinosaur Jr. is coming to town on November 3rd. I’m getting really hyped up about the show, especially after seeing the band play on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon last night. Watch the video for yourself and try to control your anticipation.

I’m going to be honest here, I have a huge crush on Annie Clark right now. She’s adorably cute and it doesn’t hurt that she records incredible music under the St. Vincent name either.

Annie showed up with an accompanying cast of musicians on saxes, oboes, and a plethora of other instruments to play The Letterman Show last night and provided the best performance I’ve seen on the show this year.

Phoenix has developed quite a bit since the days of being Air’s backing band. This year they released my favorite single of the year by a long shot with “1901″ and have been taking the international festival circuit by storm. This is one band that I couldn’t be any happier about their success.

In celebration of Tuesday’s release of The Eternal, Sonic Youth visited the Letterman Show last night. The band ripped through the album’s opening track “Sacred Trickster” and definitely left the studio audience craving more. If anyone can pull some strings and bring this band to Phoenix/Tucson, I will love you for life.

We brought you the video for Little Boot’s single “New In Town” a few weeks back. The Illuminations EP is set to be released in the US next month, finally giving people on this side of the water a (legal) piece of her music. In celebration, she stopped by Later…With Jools Holland to perform the track.
