The debut album from Girls is finally out in physical form, and let me tell you it’s a beautiful chunk of vinyl. In honor of being able to finally own this wonderful record, here’s the final song on the album. “Darling” showcases the way this band effortlessly combines influences from classic rock, psyche, 60′s girl-groups, and surf. The album is incredibly diverse, sporting a few honest-to-god ballads and a few songs designed to knock you down flat with their intensity. Because of this, not a single song on the album is worth skipping. This is an album in the truest sense of the word, and something I’m recommending everyone pick up immediately. Arizona is getting a chance to see this band in Tucson on December 8th, take advantage of it!

Tomorrow is a big day for Girls from San Francisco. It marks the release of their debut LP entitled Album. Here’s another band that is giving more credence to the theory that 2009 is a lot closer to 1969 than we though. There’s some beautiful (and at times psychedelic) guitar pop on this album. And it’s pretty exhilarating that music like this is becoming so popular these days. I’m loving the opportunity to see bands of incredible talent perform live often. In fact, you can catch these guys at Club Congress in Tucson on December 8th.

kid sister album details

Kid Sister’s long-delayed debut album finally has an official release date. Downtown Music will release Ultraviolet on October 6th. Kid Sister combines house and rap in a way that’s wholly original and too much fun to sit still to when you hear her tracks.

The album features production from the likes of A-Track, Xxxchange, Sinden, DJ Gant-Man, Herve, Yuksek, and others. The tracklist is below and features a few tracks, such as “Control” and “Pro Nails”, that have been kicking around for awhile.

After a couple of years of silence, Air is finally preparing to hit us off with another album on October 6th. The album is called Love 2 and the group is getting the hype rolling way prior to release by giving away the track “Do the Joy” as a free download.

All you have to do is visit their website and enter in your name and email address. You’ll be sent a code from the band to download the song off iTunes within a few minutes. The band also announced that the first single, “Sing Sang Sung”, will be released on August 25th.

Taken By Trees is the name of Victoria Bergsman’s latest project. Victoria is best known for her work with The Concretes and her vocals on Peter Bjorn and John’s hit “Young Folks”. She released the record Open Field in 2007 and now has confirmed the release of the followup.

The album is called East Of Eden and will be released on September 8th. Victoria recorded this album in Pakistan with local musicians, making her the first woman from the Western world to complete such an adventurous task. The album will come with a short film that details the recording process.

new arctic monkeys album

The Arctic Monkeys have announced that their third LP will be released in the US via Domino on August 25th. The album was co-produced by James Ford of Simian Mobile Disco and Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age.

Could there be a possible stoner-rock tint to this album? It would certainly be an interesting direction for the band to go in. The album is currently untitled, but the tracklisting is included below.

dinosaur jr. details

The details of the forthcoming Dinosaur Jr. album have been announced. The album is entitled Farm and will see a release on Jagjaguwar Records on June 23rd. The band’s press release states that the album will feature “long songs, big guitar, and a few quiet moments”. The band is heading out on a US tour on April 1st. Unfortunately no Arizona or California dates are planned on this tour, maybe this summer? Get ready to get loud!
