When Animal Collective released their rarities collection Animal Crack Box earlier this year, the artwork was the thing that caught my eye above and beyond anything else. Jon Vermilyea’s incredible illustration for the collection is now available on a high quality 20 x 37″ print. It’s limited to 150 copies and each one is signed by the artist himself. Animal Collective’s 2009 release Merriweather Post Pavilion is an album that I absolutely love. The album has remained part of the soundtrack throughout this year. I’ve experienced some of the best and worst moments of my life this past year, with the album there to guide me through it all. You could say I’m a bit of a fan of it. “In The Flowers” is one of the standout tracks on the album and one I’ve been hoping they’d release a visual companion to. Luckily that wish has been grant with this video directed by Avery Tare’s sister Abigail Portner. The band will be releasing a new EP next month.

Another day, another Phoenix remix. Only this time it’s coupled with the news that the band will be releasing an officially sanctioned version of remixes in digital form on October 13th. Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix (Remix Collection) features 15 tracks, including this one from fellow hype-machines Animal Collective. They took the spaced-out instrumental track “Love Like A Sunset” and worked a little AC magic on it. They even recorded their own vocal tracks for the remix, increasing the feeling of a meeting of the minds between the two bands. A glance at the tracklist below proves very promising.

I’ve been eagerly awaiting this track since I heard word about it. While this is a radio rip from the BBC, it still gives you the opportunity to hear what just became my summer anthem.

DâM-FunK has been putting out some of my favorite music as of late. The Stones Throw artist is on some serious modern funk shit, and was a perfect choice to remix the latest Animal Collective single.

The Summertime Clothes 12″ is set to be released on July 7th and also features a dubstep remix by Hyperdub artist Zomby.
