07.21.09show announcement: bon iver at the mesa arts centerI was so excited when I heard about this show last night that I immediately called a friend who's shared my mutual obsession with Bon Iver over the past year. This friend and I were actually planning on driving out to LA to see his show there. Luckily I won't have to do that now, and neither will you. Bon Iver will be playing at Mesa Arts Center on September 29th. Tickets go on sale this Friday from Stateside Presents and are likely to sell out fast.

06.24.09justin vernon in volcano choirBon Iver leader Justin Vernon is a busy man. While currently working on the followup to Bon Iver's masterpiece For Emma, Forever Ago, and playing shows all across the world over the past few months, he's managed to complete an album with a new side project named Volcano Choir. The band features Justin on vocals and members of Wisconsin-based band Collections of Colonies of Bees making up the remainder of the band. Word is the album will be more on the experimental side of what we're used to from Justin. The album Unmap will be released on Jagjaguwar on September 22nd. ...
