01.27.10|LCD Soundsystem releases album teaser|LCD Soundsystem released one of my favorite albums in March of 2007 with "The Sound Of Silver" and has occupied a nostalgic place in my music collection ever since. 12.15.09< Muse and Silversun Pickups are coming in April >Muse will make their way through Phoenix just a week before their headlining set at Coachella. The band was the first confirmed headliner for this year's festival, and the only one as of yet. They'll be playing at US Airways Center on April 9th with opening support from Silversun Pickups. The band is going on the massive tour in support of their album The Resistance, which was released early this year. Tickets go on presale Thursday at 10AM over at evil bastard Ticketmaster. Their website says tickets will go for $45-55 each.

04.15.09treasure fingers at bar smith tonightRecently transplanted from Atlanta to Brooklyn, Treasure Fingers has taken the club circuit by storm. He's signed to Fools Gold Records and has been touring the country and world non stop over the past couple of years. He'll be making a stop through Phoenix on his way to Coachella this evening at Bar Smith. The Pinky Ring resident djs will provide support along with guests Bigie and Daze of Thunder from Party Foul Fridays. This is getting going at 9 and is going to be packed, so get there early.

04.14.09conor oberst & the mystic valley bandIt's that time of the year when Phoenix gets hit with a number of high profile shows as bands make their way to Coachella. Stateside Presents is bringing Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band to the Marquee Theatre tonight. Tickets are $21 at the door and still available. The show starts at 7pm.

04.01.09coachella preview: blitzen trapperToday's preview is about Blitzen Trapper. These guys hail from Portland, Oregon and play folk influenced rock music. They travel in the same circles as bands like Fleet Foxes and Band of Horses. This style of music is all the rage right now and it isn't a surprise that all three of the mentioned bands got a slot on Coachella this year. Blitzen Trapper released the critically acclaimed record Furr on Sub Pop last year and this track comes from that album.
