"Horchata" is a track built primarily upon the steady stomp of the drums and the intricate backing vocals. There's actually no guitar to be found in this song, and it leads me to believe the band might be going in a new direction with this album. Contra will be released on January 10th. 09.15.09vampire weekend announce second albumVampire Weekend has become one of the largest success stories of the viral music revolution. Seriously, how much space has been dedicated to these guys on blogs like this the world over? Luckily, the band isn't just hype. They actually delivered one hell of a debut album and the news announced today about the second album has my anticipation level high. The album is called Contra and will be released on January 12th via XL. The tracklist is below.
