06.17.09mp3: mason properI always am a little hesitant to check out a band's version of a cover from a completely different genre. Mason Proper has taken that a step further and actually decided to combine two songs (from two vastly different artists) into one cover. Recipe for disaster right? Luckily, this turned out wonderfully. This is the band's cover of "Get Innocuous" from LCD Soundsystem and "Love Lockdown" from Kanye West. 02.28.09hot chip cover transmissionJoy Division is sacred ground for me and a lot of other people out there, so I was a little hesitant when I first heard about this cover. I've enjoyed Hot Chip since I first heard them, but wasn't so sure how this would translate over. I'm glad to report that they actually delivered with a very solid take on the song.
