11.13.09video: animal collective- “in the flowers”Animal Collective's 2009 release Merriweather Post Pavilion is an album that I absolutely love. The album has remained part of the soundtrack throughout this year. I've experienced some of the best and worst moments of my life this past year, with the album there to guide me through it all. You could say I'm a bit of a fan of it. "In The Flowers" is one of the standout tracks on the album and one I've been hoping they'd release a visual companion to. Luckily that wish has been grant with this video directed by Avery Tare's sister Abigail Portner. ...

06.02.09new arctic monkeys albumThe Arctic Monkeys have announced that their third LP will be released in the US via Domino on August 25th. The album was co-produced by James Ford of Simian Mobile Disco and Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age. Could there be a possible stoner-rock tint to this album? It would certainly be an interesting direction for the band to go in. 04.09.09the fall find new labelLegendary post-punk band The Fall have found a new home. They just inked a deal with Domino Records, home to acts such as Franz Ferdinand and Animal Collective. According to the label, The Fall is preparing to enter the studio in England where they'll record a new album for the label. There's no official date for the album's release yet, but they promise it should be out by the end of 2009.

03.02.09new junior boysThe new Junior Boys album Begone Dull Care will be released in the US via Domino on April 7th. The band is embarking on a US tour in support of the album which will see them hitting Phoenix on April 19th with Max Tundra. Here's a preview of the new album.
