08.06.10|Fol Chen Releases Free Remix EP|One of the biggest and most pleasant surprises of the year for me has been Fol Chen's stellar album "Part II: The New December". This album is avant-pop at it's finest and will make you want to dance to sounds that are rarely used in dance music. What's even better is how fantastic this band sounds. I'm often weary of bands that get compared to Joy Division, as the band is most definitely my all time favorite and few bands come close to capturing the spirit they did. The Montreal-based band put out one hell of a record last year with the release of Some Are Lakes and it looks like they're planning to up the ante even more based off this new song.
