04.30.09first friday reminderI wanted to remind all our readers about the party that's going on tomorrow night. Black Swan throws pretty much the best afterparties in town. Where else are you going to find a spot to drink and dance until 5 in the morning? Factory Made Future will be in the house with a Nite Ride DJ set at Midnight, as well as Tyler snapping photos throughout the night. We hope you all look as good as we think you will.

There's also rumors of projections and food going around. And who doesn't want to party until 5 in the morning? Sleep is overrated anyways.

04.03.09trunkspace turns 5The Trunkspace has been providing some of the best music and art shows for the past five years now in Phoenix. It has become an institution that can consistently be counted on to book bands and artists that are doing things outside the norm and hopefully remains a landmark in the Phoenix scene for years to come. There couldn't be a better night than First Friday to celebrate their anniversary, so here's the party! There will be some great art on display and great music as well.

04.03.09mondegreen at the ruby roomMondegreen has been everywhere lately. The band has been getting a lot of local press as they prepare to release their new album. I'm personally loving the style of 90's indie rock worship that these locals are kicking out. This should be a great show tonight at the Ruby Room for First Friday, as they have three other great local bands joining them.

03.12.09HIPPOPOTAMUSHippopotamus is a line of "mildly offensive flower pots" from local artists Ashy Pie and Luster Kaboom. They're selling these for only $15 and they come with a flower already. So, as long as you remember to water the thing between bouts of heavy drinking, you should be able to bring and keep a little life to your house. They're currently selling them at the Pravus gallery on First Fridays. You can check them out on Myspace. Maybe you can even get a special order in.
