You might remembered that I gave lots of praise to First Rate People's debut single "Girls' Night" awhile back. The song's mix of indie and R&B, along with male and female vocals, really struck a chord with me. It appears Mister Fidget was paying attention and sent over his remix of the track that he did along with Sound Remedy earlier this morning. Now that I've gotten to play it a few times, I figured I should share the wealth. This remix is super slick; I only wish that it was longer! These are two producers that just showed up ...

It's rare that I'm instantly sold on a band after hearing only one track, but you can now add First Rate People to that selective list. "Girls' Night" is the hottest slice of R&B-influenced indie rock I've heard this year and though it's much more direct than the style that Dirty Projectors plays, I believe fans of that band will dig this as well. The band counts Vincent Moon and members of The National as early supporters, which is actually what led me to check out the band. My only wish is to hear a lot more from these Toronto ...
