11.04.09contest: win two tickets to health on 11/12Here's a band that had a huge year! They've spent a majority of the year touring behind their stellar album "Get Color", including dates opening for NIN. The band hit Phoenix a few times along the way too, and is returning this coming Tuesday. They're going to be at the Rhythm Room along with Chinese Stars and Lovvers from the UK. 11.02.09video: no age- “losing feeling”Around the FMF headquarters, we're rushing to make final plans and get everything ready in time to leave for Austin to cover Fun Fun Fun Fest this weekend. The event is so crammed full of incredible bands, that I'm anticipating we get little sleep on the trip. One of the bands I'm most eagerly awaiting seeing perform is No Age. 10.20.09fun fun fun tickets going fastThe third annual Fun Fun Fun Fest is taking place in Austin's Waterloo Park on November 7th and 8th. Well really, with all the pre and post shows and parties, it's really a four day buffet of music. With a lineup as solid as this fest has, and ticket prices so low, I'm surprised there's any tickets left. The fest organizers have been warning that the tickets are starting to run low, so you should make a purchase quickly if you plan on hanging out with FMF in Austin come November. Seriously guys, The Jesus Lizard is even playing this!

10.07.09mp3: mission of burma- “1, 2, 3, Partyy!”When Wednesday comes around, I usually need a little kick in the ass to make it through the rest of the week. Luckily I was able to push through today, mostly thanks to listening to the lead single from the new Mission Of Burma record on the way to the office. They recently released the album The Sound The Speed The Light on Matador and it's every bit as spirited and impressive as the albums they were releasing two decades ago. 09.12.09fun fun fun fest set times revealedI know I'm a little late on this one, but it's taken a couple of days for this epic lineup to fully soak in my mind. It doesn't look like I'm going to be so much as sitting down for even a few minutes on either of these days. Plus, I'm fully expecting afterparties all over the city of Austin during this particular weekend in November. The organizers did a pretty good job of spreading out the bands I'm interested in seeing, as there are only a few tough decisions for me throughout, and I'll probably wander back and forth ...
