This guy has been one of my favorite comedians since I first saw him on the sorely missed series Human Giant. Their energetic live shows and catchy rhythms have catapulted them into the ranks of bands that frequently play festivals, and even landed their track "Daylight" in a Bacardi commercial earlier this year. 07.21.09show announcement: bon iver at the mesa arts centerI was so excited when I heard about this show last night that I immediately called a friend who's shared my mutual obsession with Bon Iver over the past year. This friend and I were actually planning on driving out to LA to see his show there. Luckily I won't have to do that now, and neither will you. Bon Iver will be playing at Mesa Arts Center on September 29th. Tickets go on sale this Friday from Stateside Presents and are likely to sell out fast.

07.15.09video: grizzly bear- “all we ask at pabst theater”The Pabst Theater was able to capture this intimate performance of Grizzly Bear's vocal workout "All We Ask" when the band came through in June. The video features the band playing the song while seated in the theater's upper balcony amidst fans and venue staff. In this setting, the song manages to take on a whole different, and equally as effective, light.

The band puts on one hell of a live show as well, and luckily they'll be hitting Tempe on their next tour instead of Tucson. The boys will be at The Clubhouse on October 7th. You can't ask for a much better way to start the week than a great show and some beer at Lost Leaf between bands. Locals Matthew Reveles and Gospel Claws will be providing support, with doors opening at 7:30.
