Not only does he play drums for Passion Pit, but he also records some incredibly dense and glitchy electronic music under the alias Shuttle. He's released a few killer records on Ninja Tune, and now he gives us this jaw-dropping remix. "Love Like A Sunset" used to be a slowly developing ambient track until Nate revamped it with some of the most urgent synth sounds I've heard all year. Only this time it's coupled with the news that the band will be releasing an officially sanctioned version of remixes in digital form on October 13th. Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix (Remix Collection) features 15 tracks, including this one from fellow hype-machines Animal Collective. They took the spaced-out instrumental track "Love Like A Sunset" and worked a little AC magic on it. 09.30.09mp3: phoenix- “rome” (neighbours with devendra banhart)Devendra Banhart is a pretty unlikely candidate to remix a track by France's most perfect export of pop bliss, but this only increased my interested in giving this one I spin. The Phoenix remixes have been coming in large numbers and steady batches for pretty much the entirety of 2009. With that many remixes, edits, and covers of songs that I still haven't fully grasped the original versions of, it can be a little difficult to wade through the murky waters to find the treasure buried at the bottom.
