04.16.10|Fucked Up to play Chasers in May|Fucked Up is a rare band that has managed to completely transcend the scene they came up in while remaining firmly tied to their roots. The hardcore band from Toronto has gained fans from all different scenes, including many people who would normally never give a hardcore band a chance. 03.08.10|Hunx and the Punkettes are coming to Phoenix|Select is racking up one amazing show after another in the two week period surround SXSW. Here's another must-attend to add to your list. Hunx and The Punkettes may be the only bubblegum pop girl-group led by a flamboyantly gay man. If not, they're certainly the best. I saw them open for Girls down in Tucson and was more than a little floored by their set. You'll find yourself dancing around immediately when this band starts playing. 01.15.10|Select Shows brings SXSW to Phoenix|It's just about that time of the year again. You know... when Phoenix gets flooded with bands on their way to or from SXSW that need a spot to play on their way. And we're more than happy to oblige. This year Select Shows put together a two day mini-fest at the Trunk Space. It's happening March 16th and 17th and features five touring bands and three locals. Surfer Blood has received an incredible amount of justified hype in anticipation of their debut album, Astro Coast. The LP is scheduled to be released on January 19th and can be pre-ordered here. You can't ask for a much better way to start the week than a great show and some beer at Lost Leaf between bands.
