This Friday, November 6th has Mars Volta alter egos Zechs Marquise and Free Moral Agents making a last minute stop at the Trunk Space. This is a show you SURELY do not want to miss. Zechs Marquise hailing from the lovely desert border town of El Paso, Texas. Formed in 2003 by brothers Manfred and Marcel Rodriguez-Lopez, and friends Matthew Wilkson and Marcos Smith. 10.27.09mp3: surfer blood- “floating vibes”Surfer Blood just may have been the busiest band at CMJ 2009. The band crammed twelve sets into the week and had very positive receptions throughout. That's great for New York, but luckily the band will be coming through Phoenix and playing The Trunk Space on December 7th. The band is about to release one of the catchiest indie albums this year with their debut LP Astro Coast. "Floating Vibes" reminds me of everything I loved about the older Weezer albums, and power pop in general. Download

Especially with all the good stuff I've been getting my hand's on lately. Knesset's vocalist/guitarist Evan gave me the promotional EP for their forthcoming LP, Coming Of Age, this past weekend and I've had it playing in my car ever since. It's the perfectly concise EP, with five brief tracks leaving you wanting more.
