Delorean is one of the most exciting and innovative bands out there right now. Though the band has a relatively small following in the States, they have a rabid fan base in Europe and the rest of the world will surely follow with the upcoming release of their LP “Subiza” on True Panther Sounds. These guys mine the world of Balearic house, hip hop, European techno, the “Manchester Sound”, and indie pop and come out of the murk with a sound that cannot be replicated and simply has to be experienced. That description above may make you think this band sounds like a mess of ideas that never fully come to fruition. But you’d be very wrong if those are your thoughts. Have a listen to the first single from the new LP and make sure you get your hands on their EP from last year called “Ayrton Senna”. You’ll be very happy that you did.

LCD Soundsystem released one of my favorite albums in March of 2007 with “The Sound Of Silver” and has occupied a nostalgic place in my music collection ever since. Well it seems like they’re shooting for a March release of their new album also, and James Murphy released this teaser that shows footage of the recording process in the slick LA mansion that was solely used as the studio the album was completed in. LCD Soundsystem brings organic and electronic music together in ways that few musicians can come close to creating and performs live shows that are talked about with passion by all those who get to see them. Phoenicians? You can see the band at Coachella in April, and you can get a little glimpse of the album right now with the video below.

The band has just released their new video for the track “VCR”, along with this awesome remix from techno powerhouse Matthew Dear. In even bigger and more shocking news, I also heard that the band is going to be remixing the upcoming Gil Scott-Heron album in full. 2009 was the year this band took over the indie scene, but 2010 will probably be the year you see this band take over popular culture in full. If you’ve avoided hearing them up till now due to the hype, you’re certainly missing out and should rectify that!

I was a pretty big fan of the last Good Shoes record, but was anxiously anticipating the next one because I knew they had a lot more in them. Their new album “No Hope, No Future” lives up to the expectations I had and even blows them away. The record is being released on January 25th in the US, though it saw release in their native UK today. The band offered up the first single for download on their website, so I’m passing it along to you. You can also stream the full album here. It will definitely give your Tuesday a kick in the ass.

I fell in love this year. No, it wasn’t with a girl, because my mom was right when she told me they were nothing but trouble. Instead I fell in love with a little band from Brooklyn called The Drums. And while I hope that band is good to me in the forthcoming year and visits Phoenix, I’ll just have to be satisfied with our relationship as it stands now. Which is mostly just me playing their record on repeat and anxiously awaiting anything new the band does. Luckily they were considerate and gave me a Christmas present in the form of the new video for their track “I Felt Stupid.” I suppose I’ll let you in on the enjoyment as well.

Here’s a shock! Clipse delivers another gritty video showing the guts and the glory of being involved in the cocaine trade. Well, actually it would probably be shocking if I told you the duo didn’t write another song about the illicit white powder. Luckily these guys still aren’t running out of metaphors or insightful things to say while discussing one of the world’s oldest dirty secrets, drug trafficking. “Doorman” was produced by The Neptunes and is featured on the bands upcoming album called Til The Casket Drops. The album is going to be released on December 8th and I’ve posted the full tracklist below.

Animal Collective’s 2009 release Merriweather Post Pavilion is an album that I absolutely love. The album has remained part of the soundtrack throughout this year. I’ve experienced some of the best and worst moments of my life this past year, with the album there to guide me through it all. You could say I’m a bit of a fan of it. “In The Flowers” is one of the standout tracks on the album and one I’ve been hoping they’d release a visual companion to. Luckily that wish has been grant with this video directed by Avery Tare’s sister Abigail Portner. The band will be releasing a new EP next month.

I remember hearing the news that Wayne Coats was recruiting people who were willing to run and ride bikes naked through the woods of Portland, Oregon in the band’s new video. That was a few months ago and I was expecting a unique video, but nothing as crazy as what we ended up with. Watch this video to find out what kind of strange appearance a giant egg makes in the video, and just how many naked people (including Wayne himself) were involved. I hopefully don’t have to say that you shouldn’t watch this in the office or with small children around. Otherwise, if you’re a fan of the epic album the band released earlier this year, sit back and get weird to this one. Watch the video at NME.
