11.17.09mp3: j. tillman- “earthly bodies”J. Tillman (full name Josh) is best known for his work as the drummer and backup vocalist for Fleet Foxes. However, he's been releasing solo work since 2004 and just released his sixth LP under his own nomenclature. The album is called Year In The Kingdom and was released on Western Vinyl in September. He's touring in support of the album right now alongside Pearly Gate Music, which features his brother Zach. They'll be making their way through Phoenix on the 30th and playing at Modified. 05.08.09free show tonightCivic Space Park at Central & Filmore is quickly becoming the best spot in Phoenix for mixed use events. It's already home to the amazing sculpture that looks like a giant jellyfish crash landed in the middle of our city, and now they've begun to throw free shows there as well. Tonight the space welcomes What Laura Says and Kinch. The show runs from 7PM to 11PM and is completely free for your enjoyment.
