03.17.09new underwater getdownUnderwater Getdown has long been one of my favorite local bands. In fact, I booked the band over a year ago to play the first night of the party I used to throw at the Yucca Tap Room called Hot Mess. The band was great that night on stage, and even better people off the stage. They've been quiet for awhile now, so I was thrilled to hear that they had new songs for our ears. 03.03.09hands on fireWatching Hands On Fire play is sort of like watching the last forty years of American rock music play out in front of your eyes. This band has mastered taking disparate styles of music and wrapping them all in a shiny coat of powerpop paper. I see big things for this band in the future and I'd recommend taking advantage of all the chances you can get to see a band of their caliber for free at an awesome bar.
